Here is a Peacock Fishing Report provided by James and Ray from their trip to Snapper Creek on December 5, 1998 - Thanks James and Ray!! We started out at the
second finger canal on the left. The first one we came to had too much floating grass at
the mouth of the canal. On about the third cast Ray caught a nice peacock to begin the day. Then from there on we
kept catching them all over in the small canal leading up to the area where it
opens up, then there is another small canal off to the left and we caught a
few more in there. After that I pretty much just went exploring and found
some 25-37 ft water off in one open area off another small canal. (good area
for some largemouths) Then we headed in around 1130. We caught most of them
on a gold floating rapala worked fast. I was throwing a chrome huskey jerk
and only landed 4. Ray had better luck with the gold one, so much for the
back of the boat thing huh. Water wes very clear and the fish seemed to only
be where there was a lot of spotty moss around. All together we landed 15
between 1-3 lbs.
Stay tune for more updates as they become available.
A quick note from the writer to all the readers .... James had sent me an
e-mail asking for directions and tips to various areas where he might be able
to catch a few peacocks. Needless to say he was able to catch a few, he plans
on making another trip on Dec 16th ... good luck and hopefully the tips I sent
you for your next trip will pan out.
