Catching Report
For May 1997"

Butterfly Peacock Bass

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY. Yesterday we had a client that wanted to be taught as much as possible about catching Peacock Bass. So that's what he got! Even while learning Frank was able to catch thirty to forty Peacock's, averaging over three pounds, anchored with a 4.5 and a 4.2 pounder. Frank was having so much fun that he decided to pass up about thirty smaller Peacock's, fish up to two pounds. The day also had a nice surprise for Frank when a ten pound Tarpon decided the Frank's bait was just too tempting to pass up. Frank went away knowing a hundred times more about how to catch Peacock Bass, and with a pair of very sore arms.

Bookings have been slim this month, so there isn't a whole lot to add, hopefully June will be better.

The final trip for March was booked on Easter Sunday by Louis and Stan. They had what we consider a good day. They caught over sixty Butterfly Peacock Bass, the fish were in the 2 1/2 - 3 pound range. All the fish where released to fight another day (Catch and Release do YOU practice it). They passed up plenty of fish in the 1 - 2 pound range or could have easily had a hundred fish day. The both said they had a good time and plan to do it again.

That's all for May, stay tune for June updates as they become available.

Sam's Peacock Bass Guide Service is no longer in business but there are some nice pictures still on his old site.
